This year's MA Museum Studies cohort at the University of Leicester have come from many different cultural and professional backgrounds. Our Museums and Art Galleries Society (MAGS) have come together to create this magazine, where we aim to share knowledge about the sector and foster a student-led community.
We are always open to article submissions - see our info page showing all the guidelines for pitching ideas!
President
I am looking forward to meeting people with different ideas, and soaking in the international view about museums, galleries and international heritage institutions!
Vice-President & Digital Tech Officer
I am inspired by my desire to increase accessibility and inclusion within museums and cultural spaces. Museums should be for everyone, and I want to make sure that is the case as much as possible.
Vice-President & Events Coordinator
I am really looking forward to meeting new people from all over the world! I am mainly interested in the politics and ethics behind colonial collections and how we can develop the museum into a more inclusive space.
Treasurer
I hope to have fun with MAGS and make more people enjoy their time in museums.

I enjoy collaborating, supporting others, and helping build a positive community atmosphere.

I have a particular interest in Ancient Greek and Roman artefacts. I hope to organise a group Museum trip with MAGS.

I’m excited to plan engaging events, collaborate with other students, and learn more about museum practices through real experiences.
Education and Outreach Ambassador & Student Staff Committee Representative
Through the UoL Museum Studies Course and MAGS I will be able take part in creating and engaging with these spaces. Which is why I am most excited for the events MAGS holds which I hope can bring different ways to engage with art and museums.

I’m really interested in how museums share different cultures and stories, and I’m looking forward to learning the skills needed to work in museums or heritage organisations. I especially love events where you can get hands-on or play games!

I’m inspired by museums, from the Greek mouseion, meaning ‘place of the Muses, where art and knowledge come together to inspire us. I’m excited to carry out various interesting workshops with my teammates. Stay tuned!!!!

I'm most looking forward to figuring out where I belong and what I should do. The museum is a place I love, and through MAG’s events, I hope more people will change their stereotypes about museums.

​I would love to join trips that explore different kinds of museums with fellow “museum fans,” exchanging ideas during and after the journey. If such opportunities do not yet exist, I would be eager to organize one myself, whether as part of school activities or magazine events.
