Jimmy - Social Media Officer

What's your favourite museum?

I hope to organise a group Museum trip with MAGS.
Nourhan - Events Coordinator

What's your favourite museum?
Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
What inspires you to work in museums?
I’m inspired by how museums preserve cultural stories and make art accessible to everyone. I’m especially interested in heritage interpretation and curating creative exhibitions.
What are you most looking forward to about your time at Museum Studies Leicester and in MAGS?
I’m excited to plan engaging events, collaborate with other students, and learn more about museum practices through real experiences.
Ellie - Education and Outreach Ambassador & Student Staff Committee Representative

What's your favourite gallery?
Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA).
Do you have any special interests in the heritage sector?
The area I am most interested in is art history because of the way art can be used to understand ourselves and the world around us. The same can happen in the museum and gallery context. They are unique spaces that can foster introspection, conversation, and community through the stories and objects that are presented.
What are you most looking forward to about your time at Museum Studies Leicester and in MAGS?
Through the UoL Museum Studies Course and MAGS I will be able take part in creating and engaging with these spaces. Which is why I am most excited for the events MAGS holds which I hope can bring different ways to engage with art and museums.
Eva - Education and Outreach Ambassador

What's your favourite museum?
One of my favourite museums is the Taipei Fine Arts Museum — it’s where you can see how Taiwanese art began and how it’s grown to connect with the world today.
What are you most looking forward to about your time at Museum Studies Leicester and in MAGS?
I’m really interested in how museums share different cultures and stories, and I’m looking forward to learning the skills needed to work in museums or heritage organisations. I especially love events where you can get hands-on or play games!
Tell us a bit about your professional career so far!
I’m from Taiwan and recently graduated in Art History. I’ve worked on art conservation and temple restoration projects, and spent time at the National Palace Museum as an intern and youth docent. Two of my research pieces were published on the Chen Cheng-po Cultural Foundation website, and also helped write artwork introductions for the Yang San Lang Art Museum and Café.
What's something you would like to achieve on the MAGS committee?
I’m excited to planning and leading engaging workshops with the MAGS team!
Irene - Education and Outreach Ambassador

What's your favourite museum?
Mogao Caves in Dunhuang is one of my favourite. It’s a Buddhist Art Museum on a WALL!
What inspires you to work in museums?
I’m inspired by museums, from the Greek mouseion, meaning ‘place of the Muses, where art and knowledge come together to inspire us.
What's something you would like to achieve on the MAGS committee?
